Gardens

YangchenmaThe stupa is surrounded entirely by a beautiful garden spread over two acres of land with a small waterfall by the entrance.
The waterfall is graced by Yangchenma, or the deity of wisdom and consort to Manjushri. An important female deity within Tibetan Buddhism, she is always accompanied by a swan, a symbol of purity and discrimination. She is depicted here in the Hindu form of Saravasti, although the Tibetan Buddhist iconography is similar in that she carries a veena. In the Tibetan version, she is dressed in sambhogakaya raiment and ornaments.

The entire complex of lawns, flower gardens, and walkways is located against the backdrop of the lush forest.

The stupa has proved very popular with visitors and on weekends and holidays, it draws near-capacity crowds who relax in the surrounding gardens.
